Pilot Implementation of the EU-Dap 2 Project in Selected Schools in the Central Bohemian Region

The purpose of our project is to verify the possibility of implementing the EU-Dap 2 primary prevention model in selected elementary schools in the Central Bohemian region. Our goal is to provide the teachers from basic schools who are willing to participate in school primary prevention plans with the reliable tools. Our goal is schools that are, to a large degree, self-sufficient in primary prevention activities.

The project entitled EU-Dap “Implementation of European Drug Addiction Prevention Trial at a Population Level” was established more than five years ago and implemented within a three-year project supported by the European Commission in 2002-2005. It was participated in by seven EU states. The project was then subjected to an evaluation, on the basis of which the decision was made to continue with it. Three other states were invited, the Czech Republic being one of them.

Our goal is to verify the efficiency of this primary prevention model in the field of drug use. Last but not least, we also wish to determine the staff, material, and financial feasibility of the  implementation of the model in ordinary elementary schools and its synergy with the so-called Minimum Preventive Programme.
