Dear colleagues, friends and supporters, the second year of the existence of the Centre for Addictology at the Psychiatric Clinic of the 1st Faculty of Medicine and General Teaching Hospital, Charles University in Prague has passed and common everyday work has replaced the first wave of enthusiasm.

2005 Report on Activities

Dear colleagues and friends, several years of cultivating educational activities in our discipline and the continuously improving clinical background have contributed significantly to the formation of a support platform on which it was possible to establish the Centre for Addictology of the Psychiatric Clinic of the 1st Faculty of Medicine and the General Teaching Hospital in 2005. However, I believe that it is important to distinguish between the emergence of the discipline as such, the accreditation of the field of study, and the establishment of the Centre for Addictology. The three steps are connected; however, they cannot be seen as a completely homogeneous process.
