In order to bridge this gap, lawyers, researchers, politicians and medical patients gathered on the premises of the Parliament of the Czech Republic. Both political and institutional will was shown with respect to the topic.
First of all, the law forbidding growing cannabis with a THC content higher than 0.3% would have to be changed, so that the Czech legislation is not stricter than UN treaties and regulations on medical cannabis use.
Second, approval is needed from the institution regulating pharmaceutical sales in the Czech Republic. The same institution could possibly issue future licenses for cannabis growing and its medical and research use.
