CALL FOR PAPERS - Second Annual Conference of the International Society for the Study of Drug Policy

April 3-4, 2008 Lisbon, Portugal The second annual conference of the International Society for the Study of Drug Policy (ISSDP) will be held in Lisbon, Portugal, April 3-4, 2008. The event is being supported by the European Monitoring Centre for Drugs and Drug Addiction (EMCDDA) and the Instituto da Droga e da Toxicodependência (IDT). Researchers interested in contributing papers that advance analysis of any aspect of drug policy are invited to submit abstracts to the conference organisers, as described below.

The symposium is hosted by the Institute of Sociology and Social Policy of the Corvinus University of Budapest and the Rudolf Andorka Social Scientific Association, sponsored by the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labour.

International Scientific Conference - EPIDEMIOLOGY AND THE SOCIAL EFFECTS OF DRUG-TAKING IN THE VISEGRAD FOUR COUNTRIES

The University of Debrecen Medical and Health Science Centre, Health College Faculty, and our company are organising an international scientific conference on "Epidemiology and the social effects of drug-taking in the Visegrad Four Countries”, with the support of the International Visegrad Fund on 16-17 November 2006, in Nyíregyháza, Hungary.

Public lecture of prof. David Rasmussen, Dean of College of Social Sciences, Florida State University: Fighting Addiction to Drug War: What America Can Learn From Europe (An economic analysis of drug policy)

The lecture will be given under the auspices of Prof. Tomas Zima, Dean of the 1st Medical Faculty, Charles University. The lecture will be followed by open discussion. Translation to- and from Czech will be available.
