Abstrakt

The Unplugged - a school-based universal prevention intervention - an evidence-based program aims to prevent or delay drug initiation and to suspend progression from early stage drug use to heavier drug use. The Unplugged was developed within the consortium of several European countries (refer to www.eudap.net). Effectiveness of the Unplugged was studied in several European countries so far. In the Czech Republic, a randomized controlled trial (RCT) on the effectiveness of the Unplugged, targeting 6th-graders, was conducted between years 2007 and 2010. Based on the results and the feedback from practice, we decided to conduct another RCT studying the effect of the Unplugged intervention (delivered to 6th graders) combined with a follow-up intervention, called nPrevention(delivered to 7th graders). This RCT started in year 2013.
