The works are assessed by two anonymous reviewers with regard to content and form. On the basis of their evaluations, the editorial board decides whether to accept or reject the works. The author is informed of the result in writing. Depending on the reviewers' comments, the work may be returned to the authors for completion, minor or major modifications, or reworking. The editor's office reserves the right to make minor stylistic adjustments or shorten the script at its own discretion (in the event of the script being shortened, the author's consent will be sought). The scripts and supplements will not be returned unless requested otherwise.

Script Format
Scripts which fail to meet the guidelines indicated will be returned to their authors without being reviewed. Please send the works on a 3.5" diskette or on a CD in any of the commonly used text editors (T602, WORD), and additionally provide two hard copies. Identify the CD with a label indicating the editor (format) used and the file name. When typing the script on a computer it is necessary to type continuously, using the ENTER key at the end of paragraphs only. Please differentiate consistently between the characters l (lower-case l) and 1 (one) and O (upper-case O) and 0 (zero). The page should comprise 30 lines (double-spaced) of 60 characters. The page margin should be 25 mm from the right, 35 mm from the left. Number the pages. Underline the parts of the text which you want to emphasise. In order to distinguish the significance of chapters (two levels of chapter structuring may be used, e.g.: 1. Dual Diagnosis, 1.1. Psychoses in people addicted to pervitin), use different ways of underlining their headings (e.g. single underline, double underline, etc.), unless it is apparent from the way the chapters are numbered.
Check your spelling and grammar, use the so-called "progressive spelling", and include as few foreign words as possible. Use abbreviations only exceptionally, always explaining them when the abbreviated word appears for the first time. Do not use abbreviations in the title of the writing or abstract. Use SI units to indicate physical and chemical variables (Czech National Standard CSN 01 1300).
Terms of the Manuscript
1) Accurate and brief title of the manuscript in English
2) Names and surnames of all the authors
3) Authors' affiliation
4) Authors' brief professional profile
5) Abstract in English
Recommended structure of the abstract of research manuscripts:
a. Background
b. Aims
c. Design and measurements
d. Participants
e. Results
f. Conclusions
6) Key words (3-6) in English
7) Grant affiliation
8) The text of the manuscript
9) References (APA citation norms)
10) Author's contact address (Name, Institution, Address, Telephone, E-mail,Fax)
11) Attachments - Graphs and Tables:
a. in a separate file;
b. in black and white only (no colours used);
c. *.xls, *.xlsx and Photoshop files are welcome
12) Electronic photo(s) of all the authors (min. 200 dpi)
The bibliography should be arranged in alphabetical order of the surname of the author (or other authors). Use APA Citation Style. The bibliographical references in the text are made by indicating the author's surname and the year when the work was published, eg.
...drug users (Doe, 2003) while... or ...findings of Skala (2002) indicate...
Use lower-case letters to distinguish different works by one author published in the same year. If a work has more than two authors, indicate only the first one and the abbreviation "et al.". In the bibliography section, full references should be used: all the authors' surnames and first name initials, full title, or subtitle, as appropriate, of the work in the original language, year, volume, number of pages; for monographs, place of publishing, publisher, year of publishing and number of pages.
Avoid references to abstracts. The so-called unpublished observations and personal information should not be used as bibliographical references; a reference to a written piece of information, not an oral one, may appear in the text, in brackets. Similarly, the information "in print" (work received for printing but not published yet) may be provided in brackets. Works forwarded to the editor's office but not yet received may be referred to as "unpublished", in brackets. The format of references to different types of documents should follow the effective citation standards.
Documentation
The work may include tables and graphic documentation in the form of charts, schedules, formulae, pictures and black-and-white slides or photographs (the use of colour documentation - photographs - should be consulted with the editor's office ). Attach these supplements loosely to the end of the script following the order of references in the text. Table headings should be written directly above the table. Headings and captions for other figures are indicated on a separate sheet. All the graphic documentation must be submitted in perfect quality - originals, not xerographic prints of line copies or half-tone originals, photographs either as slides or on paper. All the copies need to be identified on the back with the name of the first author, the abbreviated title of the work, the page number in the script to which the attachment relates, and the number by which it is referred to in the text and which refers to the original text. Mark the place where a supplement should be included in the text with a box indicating the supplement identification (e.g. Fig. 1). Provide the same identification in the text, in brackets. Figures supplied on diskettes may be in the following formats: CDR, EPS, TIF, PCX, BMP.
Ethical Aspects
When reporting on experiments involving human beings, state in the section dealing with methodology that the study was approved by the local ethical board prior to implementation. Under no circumstances indicate in the illustration documentation the names or initials of patients or reference numbers or identification data referring to a specific hospital, record, or treatment. Prepare a statutory declaration saying that the study was approved by the ethical board and attach it to the text on a separate sheet of paper. Where experiments involving animals are the case, state whether the constitutional and national regulations and guidelines for the breeding and experimental use of animals were observed or attach a statutory declaration proving that consent was granted by the ethical board.
Grant Sources
Any note of grant support should always be provided at the end of the article (before the address and the bibliography).
