Peer Programme in Practice – Artificial Approach or Necessity?
A peer programme, one of the methods used for the primary prevention of risk behaviours, including addictive substance use, carried out in basic schools has both positive and negative aspects. Outlined in the introduction to the article, the peer programme and its separate lessons are further discussed in more detail. The author draws on her skills in leading peer lessons in the basic school in the town of Týn nad Vltavou. The aim of this article is to describe both the shortcomings and positive results of the author´s work with children. Another objective is to propose possible steps to enhance the effectiveness of primary prevention in schools.
